Dear Club Member,

 

Tournament Rules 

  1. The Tournament Committee shall be: Tournament Coordinator – Hugh Watson; Tournament Referee – Pete Rutland; Google Docs Administrator – KK.
  2. The Tournament Referee and Tournament Co-ordinator, in consultation with Men’s and Ladies’ Team Captains, will decide the Seeding in each event.
  3. You must play each round by the scheduled completion date or withdraw from the tournament. If both player/pairs have offered 3 dates and are still unable to agree a time please contact Pete Rutland immediately.  If players have trouble arranging matches both have the requirement to contact the tournament referee BEFORE the deadline (so referee can assist) or both players/pairs may be scratched.
  4. All doubles matches will consist of 3 tiebreak sets, including the final set.
  5. Singles matches will consist of 2 tiebreak sets, followed by a Championship tiebreak if it goes to one set all. If mutually agreed at the outset, players may choose to play 3 tiebreak sets.
  6. If any match is not completed on the day on which it commenced (e.g. due to rain or bad light) that match will recommence from the score at the time it was interrupted.
  7. All results must be entered on the internet Result Sheet, by the winning player, within 24 hours of the match being completed.
  8. The Tournament Referee reserves the right to scratch any player/pair he considers to have acted in breach of the Tournament Rules. In particular, any player (including a player in a doubles pairing) who is unavailable to play a round by the play by date, subject to the discretion of the Tournament Referee, will be treated as having withdrawn from the Event.
  9. By entering the Event all entrants agree that they are available to play on Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th July 2026. If competitors subsequently become unavailable to play on Finals Day, they should either scratch from the tournament immediately, or concede at match point in a subsequent round.
  10. WhatsApp groups will be set up by the Tournament Coordinator for scheduling matches. Where round deadlines are approaching, reminders may be sent where matches have not yet been scheduled.
  11. Should any player who has progressed beyond the semi-final stage become subject to injury/personal indisposition prior to or during Finals day, the Tournament Referee (subject to the seriousness of the circumstances) may allow postponement of any affected events on Finals day. Such discretion shall be exercised in exceptional circumstances only.
