Finals Day
It was a lovely hot sunny day, though too hot for some! The matches were very entertaining and exciting and were played with the members’ usual good humour with plenty of competitive spirit thrown in.
Well done to the Lack Cup participants Etienne Hathaway and Alex Browne battled it out against each other (on Sat 10 July) .
A huge thanks must go to Hugh Watson, the Tournament Organiser, who ran the event brilliantly with much assistance from many members too numerous to thank, although special mention to Wendy Driver, Ralph Watson, Neeraj Gupta, Pete Rutland and other Committee members and volunteers who helped during the tournament and on Finals Day.
The trophies were presented to the winners and runners up by the Club President, Beverley Bailey and we want to thank Patti Axten for her hard work in organising the trophies. Additionally, we thank Andrew Bunyan who ran the Pimms Bar, Elaina Forland for a very successful Junior Event; Enid, Vicky and Neeraj who took the photos which we hope will be uploaded onto our website in the not-too-distant future. We are very grateful to the many helpers and spectators who shifted umpire chairs, benches and tables without whom we could not run this day.
