Roger Frais Memorial 110 Tournament 2026

The 110 Tournament was played in Memory of Roger Frais a past HLTC President on Sunday 31 May 2026.

12 mixed pairs with a combined age of 110 played in two groups of six.  Each pair played 5 short matches on a handicap basis in their group.  The pair with the highest score from each group then played the runners up from the opposing group which gave us 2 pairs to play for the cup in the final.  The final was played with big serves mixed with skilful touch shots giving all spectators a great match to watch and enjoy.   James & Anne lost in a tightly fought final to Vikas and Tina.

HLTC v Harrow School – Saturday 2 May 2026

I am delighted to report that on this beautiful sun filled afternoon our gents played a brilliant match against the School for the Harrow Cup. 24 players, 12 pairs, pitted their wits and abilities against a very strong team with nailbiting final sets going mostly against HLTC. Spectators were spellbound by the talent and skill on display as they munched their way through sandwiches and cakes supplied by the School.

Determination and courage carried our players through concluding in a 59-point win to HLTC over 58-points to the School.

Kenton League results re my AGM report below.

As HLTC didn’t have floodlights, we originally entered this friendly league when it was founded over 25 – 30 years ago. This offered HLTC members the opportunity to play matches during winter evenings. Over the years we have formed a strong bond with the Kenton club, developing and building many friendships along the way.

This year, we entered 5 teams in their league; the results are below.

  • Gents Team 1 Captain Andrew Bunyan Division 1 Champions
  • Gents Team 2 Captain Suneil Mahindru 2nd in Division 2
  • Gents Team 3 Captain Dan Lyons Consolidated their position
  • Mixed Team 1 Captain Wendy Driver Division 2 Champions
  • Mixed Team 2 Captain Nestor Martinez Consolidated their position

Many Congratulations to Mick Hooker

Mick has now achieved his goal that he set for himself a time ago. To advance to the Wimbledon ITF British Masters Grass Court Championships championship match.

After a year of competing in challenging ITF tournaments across the nation and winning enough games to gain the necessary ranking points, he was able to enter Wimbledon. He reached the Wimbledon final on 30th Aug 2023 after being seeded No. 2, competing in challenging quarterfinal and semifinal matches. Despite playing Neil and Andrew, the No. 1 seeds, who have both played for Great Britain, in a close match, he lost, but won’t soon forget the experience.

The overall EOM winners for the year winning the most tournaments in 2025

ladies: winning 4 times is Aahana- fantastic result!

Mens: Kk- Ash – Nitin all won 2 times so a play off will be organised for the trophy.

Christmas Drinks – The Castle

On Sunday 14th December from 6:30 pm, Christmas Drinks will be hosted by the Harrow Lawn Tennis Club. Venue is β€œthe Clock Room of the Castle pub 30 West Street, Harrow on the Hill, HA1 3EF”. Free drinks and nibbles will be provided by the Club. All members are welcome to attend.
